Setting up checkout

Your customers order through Shopify Checkout. Naqdi checks the orders they pay with cash on delivery. The app's Home page lists these steps with links to the right places.

1. Turn on cash on delivery

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings › Payments.
  2. Under Manual payment methods, add Cash on Delivery (COD).

Naqdi also recognises a manual method you create yourself if its name says cash on delivery, for example “Paiement à la livraison” or “الدفع عند الاستلام”.

2. Make the phone number required

Most checks use the customer's phone number. In Settings › Checkout, set the shipping address phone number to Required. An order without a phone number is always flagged.

3. Add the Confirm on WhatsApp block

  1. In Naqdi's Settings › Thank you page, enter your WhatsApp number with its country code and, if you like, your own thank-you message. Click Save.
  2. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings › Checkout and click Customize.
  3. Pick Thank you in the page menu at the top, click Add app block and choose Naqdi: Confirm on WhatsApp.
  4. Pick Order status in the page menu and add the block there too. Click Save.

Customers who pay with cash on delivery then see your message and a Confirm on WhatsApp button that opens a chat with you, with their order number filled in. On the Thank you page the order number is Shopify's confirmation number, which the app's Orders page shows next to each order. The block is available on all Shopify plans.

4. Add the order button (optional)

  1. In Naqdi, go to Home and click Add the order button.
  2. The theme editor opens your product template with the COD order button block added. Drag it where you want it, then click Save.

The button, “Order now — pay on delivery”, takes the customer straight to Shopify Checkout with the product and quantity they picked. Set its text and colour in Settings › Order button, or on the block in the theme editor. It needs an Online Store 2.0 theme (such as Dawn).

Check it

Place a test order through checkout and choose cash on delivery. The Thank you page shows the Confirm on WhatsApp block, the order gets a naqdi-ok, naqdi-flagged or naqdi-blocked tag in your Shopify orders, and it appears on the app's Orders page.
